SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Cedar Grove man has been formally charged after a stand-off with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department last week.
28-year-old Matthew Eischen is charged with six counts, including Misdemeanor Battery and False Imprisonment, stemming from last Thursday’s stand-off in Cedar Grove. According to the criminal complaint, filed Monday in Sheboygan County Court, Eischen and the mother of his children had gotten into an argument when the woman arrived at his home to pick up the children. Eischen then assaulted the woman, at one point choking her, ripping hair from her head and head-butting her. The woman tried to take the children and leave the home, with Eischen stopping her on numerous occasions before allowing her to leave. Deputies had arrived to take Eischen into custody, but by that time he had barricaded himself in the home. The SWAT team also responded to the scene as Eischen had previously said he would kill any police officers who tried to enter his home.
Shortly after 7 P.M. the SWAT team served a search warrant and took him into custody that evening without further incident. If Eischen is convicted, he could spend up to six years in jail.
